Every year on the 19th of June, millions of people around the world
celebrate Juneteenth. This tradition was started by slaves as a
remembrance to never forget the day Texas freed their slaves in 1865.
Texas freed their slaves two and a half years after the nation ordered
states to free slaves with the Emancipation Proclamation.
"Juneteenth the Stage Play" is a story of how love, faith, and
prayer between a Texas slave-woman named Tippy and a Texas slave man
named Henry sustained them through slavery and even the additional two
and a half years when Texas kept slavery going.
